Weightlifting is a growing sport and has been proved to increase a range of fitness components: speed, agility, accuracy, strength… the list is endless!
With a growing interest in Weightlifting amongst members at Gym66 and within Gloucestershire, we introduced 2 lifting classes a week, on Tuesday and Thursday with our Olympic Weightlifting coach Sam!
The weekly classes are accessible to everyone, from complete novice to advanced level.
Access to classes is ran on a ‘pay as you go’ system, or as part of Gym66 membership schemes.
“As the coach of the Weightlifting classes, I am passionate about Olympic Weightlifting and its development. Over the years I have been fortunate to coach athletes from the complete novice to national level. I have a long background in Strength & Conditioning, currently heading the coaching of the Gym6 Weightlifting club. I am also England talent pathway coach with British Weightlifting for the central region – looking to push the engagement and performance in the sport forward, as I continue to study the science of coaching.”
