Seeing as it is the start of January and most people in the UK will be on some form of health kick, now would be a good time to talk about investing in your health and fitness

Each and every one of us will have a different goal that they want to achieve. We are two weeks into 2019. What have you been doing to make steps towards you goal?

Now if you are dusting off the cobwebs and getting back into your health and fitness and know what is needed to be done then crack on with whatever it was you were doing (read on anyways and you might learn something).

If you are a newbie into the health and fitness world with no real knowledge or guidance please do not just follow the crowd by buying a new pair of trainers and running around the concrete jungle looking like something out of Birdbox (Good film – go watch it)

Running may seem like the easy thing to do as its free but will it take you towards your fitness goals?

Firstly, when you started learning to drive, did you have an instructor or get behind the wheel without help? This question can apply for many other things, learning languages or a musical instrument.

What I’m trying to get at is that you need guidance, you need help. Don’t just search the internet because half the time it is a load of rubbish. This is the time that you need to invest in your health. Be it a DECENT gym membership – (one that suits your needs, don’t just spend £20 on something you aren’t going to use just because its cheap!), a PT, Group classes and nutrition advice.

Once you have bitten the bullet with parting some cash for knowledge and advice you will find that you get to your goal a lot quicker than running around like a headless chicken through town.

Yes, we have targeted running as new year running is normally the go to. But this applies for anything that is cheap to do and at the end of the day is something you don’t actually enjoy!

 New Year’s Check List

If you can put a tick next to all of these, you will be on your way to reaching your goals:

Do you enjoy it?

Can you stick to it?

Is it specific to your goals?

Are you learning?

Are you progressing?

Here’s a video on why we think some new year activities aren’t suited for everyone…
