After working with some clients last week, talking about their nutrition and daily habits. It hit me that people do not look after themselves as much as they should from a health perspective.
We live in a world were looking after your own health is not a priority. There are loads of different things that people will put first instead of looking after number one. This baffles me because if you aren’t looking after yourself then who is?!
Normally the people that aren’t looking after themselves are the ones that need the most help. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to work that out. This is when they would need to start researching or get help from different sources. If you are struggling to know when you need to sort your health out it will most likely be when you are eating packet foods all the time, get out of breath getting out of bed and probably have a low self-esteem.
Once you have come to terms with the fact that you need to take more time to prioritise your health and set some goals then this is something that needs to be worked on 24/7! You can’t put your health on pause and expect it to get better or even stay at the level its at. When I say health, I mean anything from nutrition to physical activity.
Just because you have a day off from work doesn’t mean you can just sit back and do nothing on your day off because, again, health is a 24/7 process! If your goal is to lose some body fat then maybe why not prep some food for the week and go on a little walk. A two-hour process can set your week up for success rather than just sitting on the sofa doing nothing. Which will then lead to poor food choices as you rush around on your lunch break.
Even the coaches at 66 work on their health every day. Making decent food choices, tracking steps and training 4-5 times a week. So, it doesn’t matter what level you are, you will always have to work every day on your health.
Take a little time out each and everyday to make sure you are looking after yourself and getting things in place to make sure you are always staying on top of you goals!
